Applied Research Enhancement [ARE] programme
CASALA is seed funded through Enterprise Ireland’s Applied Research Enhancement Centre programme, which is a key part of the Government’s drive to increase levels of innovation and research in regional locations in Ireland.
This programme has been created by Enterprise Ireland to enhance the applied research capabilities within the Institutes of Technology. The aim is to build upon the applied expertise within the Institutes and make this knowledge accessable to local and national industry.
Key objectives:
- To enable regional and national development by introducing innovative technological solutions through collaboration with industrial partners
- To develop next generation technology platforms for the benefit of Irish industry through a dedicated applied research strategy
Industry can also avail of a coordinated approach, allowing them to avail of the research expertise and the state of the art equipment across a number of Centres. Individual centre managers are also working closely together to develop collaborative projects with industry that require the skill-sets across a number of centres.
