Our pre-conference technology & ageing workshop took place in Dundalk on the 15th September 2011. The workshop was hosted by the team here at CASALA and was targetted at business leaders, companies and individuals planning to participate in the market for technology-based services or solutions in a counter-ageing society. The workshop provided deep insight into the complex market dynamics, product and service positioning and communication challenges.
About the Presenter: Laurie Orlov is the Founder of Aging in Place Technology Watch, a market research firm based in the U.S. that provides thought leadership, analysis, and guidance about technologies and related services that delight and empower older people, promoting the independence, autonomy and connectivity to age-in-the-place of their choice.
In her previous career, Laurie spent more than 30 years in the technology industry, including 24 years in IT and 9 years as a leading industry analyst at Forrester Research. While there, she was often the first in the industry to identify technology trends and management strategies, which have survived the test of time. BioBusiness, CASALA and the Netwell Centre are collaborating together on many levels from identifying business, clinical and academic opportunities to drive the AAL and CH research, development and market development. Collaborations exist for indigenous industry, linking local organisations to multinationals, finding and working with early adopter clinicians and academics. These collaborations are driving new business, service and market opportunities, and meeting unmet or poorly met clinical and market need.
