Just back from the AmI-11.org conference on Ambient Intelligence in Amsterdam. Where I presented a paper entitled "Comparison of health measures to movement data in aware homes". The conference brought together an interesting mix of delegates, both from the artistic / architectural / installation side of Ambient intelligence as well as the engineering side, but mainly from the engineering side, the majority of the tracks were on smart environments and Ambient Assisted Living.
I presented during the AAL Session 1 on Friday morning, despite my mac book breaking and having a presentation pulled together last minute by a colleague, the presentation was well relieved. Other talks I enjoyed that I will dig deeper in to now that I have returned include: "Hierarchical Activity Recognition using automatic clustering of actions" by Tim van Kasteren and "SenseTale: Towards user created applications on the Internet of Things" by Lieven Trappeniers.
The conference dinner in the old De Wag building was execellent, if ratemyconferencedinner.com existed this would get a 10.
