SIGNAL PROCESSING POST DOC


Algorithm Developer required to work with world-class bio signal dataset. Working on a high profile project building machine learning algorithms based on a data set of > 125 million records gathered to date, to classify human behaviour and health conditions. Increase your profile with publications in leading academic journals. Emphasis on delivering the next generation of in-home health monitoring algorithms, to be executed on a cloud based service. Join a small and dynamic, research team and learn new technologies and help research direction, with the potential to become part of spin out companies. Participate in hack-a-ton days to try to develop new ideas in a day. Roll would suit a self-starter with ideas and the ability to develop them.


Salary: €45,000 + pension contributions - 15 Month contract position

Responsibilities:

Interpret meaning from large sensor dataset using pattern matching / machine learning / statistical algorithms. Understanding of health based problems, visualisation of data, research and design of solution, implementation in a robust web-service language solution. Emphasis will be on ability to deliver solutions rather than years of experience in a field.

 

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • PhD in Engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Track record working with statistics and machine learning techniques (SVM, HMMs, …) and tools to develop them (Matlab, R. etc.)
  • Track record of turning research algorithms in to robust deployment ready tools to be integrated with cloud based execution engine, using web service language.
  • Experience with web services & developing web based applications
  • Experience interfacing with large datasets stored in a MySQL Database
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Good verbal and written (English) communication skills
  • Flexible attitude, Ability to work well on own initiative and with minimal direction
  • Experience working in a research environment and or start-up environment

IT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

 

Systems Administrator required to maintain network, server and computer infrastructure.  Join a dynamic and high profile applied research team that is delivering the next generation of aware home and health sensing products.  Learn new technologies, implement and define new network systems, servers and tools. Participate in hack-a-ton days to try to develop new ideas in a day. Position would suit a self-starter.

 

Salary: €32,000 + pension contributions – 18 Month contract position.

Responsibilities:

As the Systems Administrator you will be responsible for all network, server and computer systems management and maintenance.  You will be tasked with ensuring that fast, stable and secure wired and wireless networks are maintained across various geographic locations.  You will ensure the smooth running of a range of Linux and Windows servers within a virtualised environment as well as the setup and maintenance of all desktop and laptop computers. You will also be required to maintain and build upon the existing cloud service server environment while at the same time ensuring that valuable data is at all times secure, accessible and replicated for DR.  This role provides you with an opportunity to learn, implement and educate the team on new systems. Emphasis will be on ability to deliver rather than years of experience in a field.  We love open source tools and software and the right candidate will have plenty of scope to define and implement preferred options.

 

Qualifications & Skills Required:

 

Essential:

  • 3rd level qualification in technical discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the maintenance of network, server and computer environments
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems from simple desktop issues to complex network and server failures then build tools and automation to prevent problem recurrence
  • Experience working across both Windows and Linux server and desktop environments
  • Knowledge of Directory services and security software (e.g. Active Directory, ePolicy Orchestrator)
  • Experience working with Firewall systems for secure internal and external network communications
  • Ability to work from a blank sheet, to define, document and build new network and server environments.
  • Good verbal and written (English) communication skills
  • Flexible attitude, Ability to work well on own initiative and with minimal direction

 

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a start up and / or research environment
  • Experience working with Server Virtualisation software (VMware etc)
  • Experience in the implementation of DR solutions
